MUSEO NACIONAL DE BELLAS ARTES

Explore the National Museum of Fine Arts of Havana – widely considered the Caribbean’s best collection of art.

With Latin America’s largest collection of paintings and sculptures, the National Museum of Fine Arts is counted among Cuba’s greatest treasures. Founded in 1913, the museum now spans two separate buildings – one with Cuban art stretching contemporary to colonial and the other housing international art dating back to 500 B.C.

Between the portraits and plaster, you’ll see woodwork of Cuban cedar and mahogany alongside 1,250 tons of marble from Italy, Spain, and the United States. And as you ascend the stairs, don’t forget to look up and see the huge, stained-glass ceiling.
