PARQUE MARTI
Visit the central plaza of the city once referred to as the “Pearl of the South” – where ornate buildings frame a statue of José Martí.
The Parque Marti, named for national hero José Martí, is centrally located in the historic part of Cienfuegos. Among sips of Cuban coffee and horse-drawn carriages, there’s a feeling of quintessential Cuba. Here, a statue of José Martí is accompanied by the nation’s only triumphal arch and a compass rose – marking the center of the city.
Photo-worthy buildings and backdrops are found at every angle, with the Antiguo Ayuntamiento, Catedral de la Purisima Concepcion, Collegio de San Lorenzo, and Palacio Ferrer in view.
This activity is available on our Classic Cuba tour or can be integrated into a custom-made itinerary.
